Community Archaeology Project: History in your Backyard!
Reach out and touch history! The M-NCPPC Archaeology Office invites you to investigate and preserve our community's cultural heritage. Participants will work as a team to process and identify real artifacts excavated from our historic sites. Staff will teach you all you need to know; prior experience is not necessary. Save our local history while doing a service for the community!
Have you ever wondered what happens to artifacts after excavation? Join the M-NCPPC Archaeology Office and Darnall’s Chance in preserving our local history. During this three-week, hands-on workshop, you will learn the process of documenting and preserving artifacts found in Prince George’s County! Archaeologists will teach you all you need to know so prior experience is not necessary. Free; Registration is required. Classes are Tuesdays 4/9, 4/16 and 4/23.
You are signing up for 3 classes. Each class will cover a different topic on artifact preservation and analysis. Further details will be provided via e-mail as we get closer to the event date. Questions? [email protected]
