Andres and Christina are 123 Andres, a Latin Grammy-winning music duo with catchy songs for kids, in Spanish and English. The interactive show integrates dance, humor, and sing able tunes that engage children and adults alike. Fun for the whole family!

If you dream of becoming an author, spend the day with writer and instructor Heather Brooks. Learn how to fight past imposter-syndrome, find your writing tribe, and live a writerly life. Bring a notebook or laptop for a day dedicated to prioritizing your writing. Bring a packed lunch. Light snacks will be provided.

In honor of National Physical Fitness and Sports Month, join us as we host a healthy snack presentation and prepare a variety of easy-to-make recipes. After the presentation, enjoy creating your own variation of a healthy snack with the provided ingredients. Try ping-pong and foosball in our gaming area, and indoor tennis in our gym. We'll also be giving out a few recipes for participants to take away and try at home.

This evening is certainly going to get your toes tapping, showcasing the world-renowned tap dancer Baakari Wilder performing with some of the finest musicians in the DMV area. Wilder has made guest appearances at the Kennedy Center since the age of 12. He starred in the Broadway musical Bring in Da Noise Bring In Da Funk, where he received a Bessie Award for originating the role of "Uncle Huck-a-Buck." He has performed all over the world in places such as Japan, Africa, Germany, France, and Russia. In 2014 he received the Pola Nireńska Award for dance, and the 2021 Hoofer Award from the American Tap Dance Foundation. 

Celebrate Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage with a day of cultural food, music, and interactive demonstrations. Our festival will feature live performances, crafts, merchandise vendors, and activities for all ages!

Celebrate World Photography Day on August 19 by learning about the history of photography. Documents and photos tell a story and help historians create a picture of the past. Participants will create a cool work of sun art which demonstrates the fundamentals of photography using found items on-site. Fee: $5/student, free for chaperones. For children ages 6 - 14 years. Explore Yoruba culture. Learn about the Yoruba people and their language. Dr. Taiye Ayoola-Adedeji, author of the innovative and interactive bilingual (English and Yoruba) book The Yoruba Sound Book for Children, will lead participants in hands-on activities and expose them to the Yoruba words for colors, animals, foods, greetings, and seasons. Recommended for ages 4-12 with an accompanying adult. All children must be accompanied by an adult. This event is FREE, but registration is required.

Come out to Old Maryland Farm to become a Junior Jockey! Participants will learn all about horses through crafts, games, and activities. At the end, children will race to the finish line as they are crowned Old Maryland Farms first annual Junior Jockeys.

‘Tis the season of spending, but let’s be sensible shoppers this year. In this session, we will discuss how to stretch our wallets, not our waistlines! We’ll start with some physical activity and talk about how to plan and approach our shopping trips to get the biggest return on our physical health. Then our nutritionist will take us on a virtual grocery store tour to help us make healthy and affordable food choices. Finally, our chef will showcase a few healthy, budget friendly twists on some holiday favorites.

July is National Minority Mental Health Month and National Grilling Month. Let's celebrate both by discussing some ways to take care of your mind, body, and soul. We will begin with instructor-led exercise. Then, our guest speaker will share some useful information on how to support your mental health through self-care this summer.
