Taisha Estrada
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a performance by Puerto Rican vocalist Taisha Estrada. Rooted in the rich traditions of Latin and American jazz, Taisha captivates audiences with her innovative, multi-genre sound and compelling storytelling. Drawing inspiration from her Caribbean upbringing and the devotion to "La Patria" instilled by her grandparents, Taisha's debut album, "Nostalgia Ajena (Foreign Nostalgia)," is a poignant reflection of her heritage, infused with the rhythms of bomba, and plena. Don't miss this opportunity to experience Taisha's dynamic performance, hailed by critics as a true testament to her artistry and authenticity.

Curiosity Jam with Deep Shenoy
Are you musically curious? Musicians and those who are interested in listening are invited to BAE's monthly Curiosity Jam! We welcome singers and instrumentalists from any culture in the world. Our goal is to share music and encourage cross-cultural collaboration. World music band Kundalika is the house backing band, with sitar-guitar, acoustic guitar, upright bass and djembe on hand. In addition to "open mic" time, each monthly jam will also feature a special segment, the world music group jam. We will teach folks how to play the basic outline of an Indian classical music scale on their own instrument (or sing it vocally). Then we'll lay down a groove and do a jam will all the musicians there playing together! No knowledge of Indian music required; we will have handouts in Western notation.

Tribute to Curtis Mayfield
A live tribute to the music of Curtis Lee Mayfield featuring the Brencore All Stars. "Over the course of a five-decade career, Mayfield innovated a hybrid form of spiritual and secular soul music, one that spoke to the democratic idealism and aspirational foot-soldiering of the civil rights and Black Power movements in the '60s, and to the materialist upwardly mobilized ambitions of the post-revolutionary '70s." - Greg Tate.
